The Financial Analysis Division assists state insurance departments with analysis of insurer’s routine filings including, but not limited to:
- Annual & Quarterly Financial Statements,
- Actuarial Opinions,
- Management Discussion & Analysis,
- CPA Audited Financial Statements,
- Holding Company filings including Corporate Governance Annual Disclosure,
- Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) and Forms B, C and F submissions.
We use the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) risk-focused analysis process and Insurer and Group Profile Summaries framework to develop and maintain the insurer’s supervisory plan. Additionally, our team can assist in reviews of UCAA applications, Form A/Form A exemptions, Form Ds, and other insurer filings.
The financial analysis staff are predominantly former insurance regulators and have extensive knowledge and experience with all aspects of the insurance industry and a thorough understanding of the operations of a department of insurance. Our financial analysis team are very familiar with all parts of the NAIC’s risk-focused surveillance framework and accreditation program. We can provide actuarial, investment, information technology and reinsurance specialists, if needed. Additionally, our team can provide training and/or peer review services to assist an insurance department’s staff development.
