Summary

Key Requirements

Examination Resources is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as an IT Examination
Manager. As a member of our team, you will develop and maintain productive working relationships
with clients, assess clients’ satisfaction, provide guidance to IT examination staff, perform IT
examination reviews for IT staff members, demonstrate proficiency with IT auditing concepts, and apply
them to ongoing jobs as needed. A successful IT Examination Manager will effectively communicate with
the clients, internal management, and IT staff.

The IT Examination Manager will ensure the successful completion of comprehensive and targeted IT
examinations in accordance with the procedures and processes developed by the National Association
of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Financial Condition Examiners Handbook, ER, contracting states, and
the federal government, as applicable.

This position is a full-time salaried position requiring a minimum of 40 hours a week and occasionally
more to ensure client deadlines are met. Work hours are typically between the hours of 8:00 am and
5:00 pm.

Maintain client relations and address any concerns and/or issues from the client and/or
company management.
Manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, remote
team environment.
Facilitate projects and oversee assigned staff to ensure client expectations and requirements are
met.
Perform administrative reviews and signoffs on staff work products, while also evaluating
performance and productivity to provide feedback for improvement.
Provide guidance to and manage examination staff on engagements/services, to include hiring
and terminating staff in consultation with upper management.
Prepare written correspondence, conduct interviews, and hold meetings with examinees and/or
clients, as needed.
Assist with aspects of audits, including risk assessments, audit planning, audit testing, control
evaluation, draft report review, and follow-up, as needed.
Provide presentations, for both educational and marketing purposes to achieve strategic goals.
Provide briefing to upper management on any new regulatory initiatives or model rules that
impact the services ER currently provides and/or presents an opportunity for services to
provide.
Determining staffing and budgets for projects and assist in responding to RFPs.
Work with the Managing Director to identify and target areas of potential growth.
Demonstrate and maintain technical competency in audit, compliance, and security areas.
Continue learning and education from daily job experience and the study of audit standards,
procedures, tools, and techniques.
Provide other consulting services, as required.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or
another relevant field is required.
Current and active CISA designation is required. AES designation is a plus. Pursuing completion
of CISSP certifications is also a plus.
Understanding of the NAIC financial examination process and Financial Condition Examiners
Handbook is a plus.
Knowledge of IT risks and controls, concepts, audit methodology, practices, and procedures.
Awareness of prevailing IT risk management and cybersecurity risk management standards
(COBIT, NIST CSF, ISO, etc.).
Understanding of and experience with reviewing SOC 1/SOC 2, HITRUST, and/or ISO 27001
assessment reports for risk and risk mitigation evaluation.
Knowledge of and experience assessing core IT infrastructure platforms (z/OS, OS/400,
Windows, UNIX/Linux, Oracle, SQL) and/or IT infrastructure/network components (domain
controllers, firewalls, routers, IDS/IPS, etc.).
Understanding of cloud platforms, Azure and AWS and corresponding technologies is a plus.
Excellent project management, time management, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational
skills.
Ability to multi-task and work effectively in individual (remote) and team settings with minimum
supervision.
Self-motivated with ability to complete assignments within time constraints and budgets.
Professional interpersonal skills with a dedication to superior client service.
